Services and Fees
Psychology Sessions Online and in Vesterbro
I offer individual therapy, couples and relationship therapy, and a free initial consultation.
Sessions can take place in person at my practice in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, or online via Whereby. I use the platform under a data processing agreement, with particular attention to confidentiality and data security.
For some people, meeting in a therapy room feels most appropriate. For others, online sessions may offer a more accessible or comfortable setting. Both can provide meaningful frameworks for therapeutic conversations, and we can consider what is most appropriate for you, your relationship or your current circumstances.
Considering getting started?
You are welcome to book a free initial consultation or a first therapy session.
You don't need to know exactly what you need help with or how to put it into words. We can figure that out together.
Some people contact me with a specific problem. Others come to me with a sense that something is no longer working the way they want it to.
You don't have to have everything figured out in advance. We can figure it out together.
Free, no-obligation initial consultation
Free · up to 15 minutes · online
If you are considering beginning therapy, you are welcome to book a free, no-obligation initial consultation.
The consultation takes place online and lasts up to 15 minutes. It is not a therapy session.
The purpose is to briefly discuss what you are seeking support with, the type of framework you have in mind, and whether a process with me may be relevant at this time.
You are also welcome to ask questions about my approach, the practical arrangements, or the difference between online and in-person sessions.
The consultation also allows me to consider whether my experience and way of working appear relevant to what you are seeking support with. If another form of support may be more appropriate, I will, where possible, help point you in a relevant direction.
Rates and Call Types
Individual therapy
1,200 DKK · 50 minutes · in person or online
Individual therapy provided for therapeutic purposes is generally exempt from VAT.
I offer individual counseling sessions for adults.
Individual therapy may involve a wide range of themes, experiences and life circumstances. Some people come with a specific concern they would like to explore. Others have a less defined sense that something is weighing on them, recurring or no longer working in a way that feels meaningful.
Conversations may include themes such as relationships, identity, gender, the body, sexuality, stress, emotional strain, grief, life transitions, self-criticism, shame, boundaries, difficult experiences or feeling stuck.
You do not need to know exactly what you would like to work on before the first session. We can explore this together and adjust the focus, pace and direction along the way.
A process with me may be shorter and focused on a particular concern, or longer with room for broader or deeper exploration. What matters is that the process remains meaningful and responsive to your needs.
Couples and relationship therapy
2,500 DKK, including VAT · 90 minutes · in person or online
Couples and relationship therapy generally subject to VAT. In certain cases, following a specific assessment, the service may be exempt from VAT if the sessions are considered to be medical treatment.
I offer couples and relationship therapy for people who would like to work with an intimate or otherwise significant relationship.
Couples and relationship therapy may be relevant when something in a relationship needs greater attention. This may involve conflict, emotional distance, breaches of trust, changes, differences, difficult conversations, recurring patterns or a sense that it has become difficult to connect with one another.
I work with many different forms of relationships. This may include romantic partners, spouses, open or polyamorous relationships, former partners, co-parents, siblings, friends, parents and adult children, and other relationships that are important in your lives.
The purpose is not to assign blame or determine who is right. Rather, we explore the patterns, experiences, needs, feelings and understandings that influence the relationship, with room for greater clarity, connection and flexibility.
Conversations are centred on you, your relationship or relationships, and what feels meaningful to explore together.
For sessions with more than two participants, an additional fee of DKK 250 including VAT is charged for each additional participant.
Practical information
Reduced fee
I am aware that cost can be a significant barrier to seeking psychological support.
I therefore reserve a limited number of appointments at a 15% reduced fee for people for whom cost would otherwise make it difficult to begin or continue a therapeutic process.
This may, for example, be relevant to students, people receiving public benefits, or others with limited financial means.
You are welcome to contact me to ask whether a reduced-fee place is currently available.
Reduced fees are offered on a limited basis and must be agreed before the service begins. The reduction is calculated from the full fee for the relevant service. Where a service is subject to VAT, the reduced fee includes VAT.
Payment and VAT
Payment is due by bank transfer after each paid session, unless otherwise agreed. Payment details and the payment deadline are stated on the invoice.
Payment details and a seven-day payment deadline are stated on the invoice. The fees shown are the total fees payable by private clients. Individual therapy provided for therapeutic purposes is generally exempt from VAT. The listed fee for couples and relationship therapy includes VAT. The invoice will state the VAT treatment applied to the specific service.
Reimbursement and subsidies
If you are a member of Sygeforsikringen “danmark”, you may be eligible for a subsidy for individual psychological treatment, provided that the applicable conditions are met. Eligibility and the amount of the subsidy depend on your membership group, the reason for treatment and the current rules of Sygeforsikringen “danmark”.
Some private health insurance policies or employer-funded health schemes may also cover all or part of the fee. Please check the terms of your specific policy directly with your insurance provider or employer.
If reimbursement is important to you, please contact me before the first paid session so that we can clarify whether the relevant conditions and reporting arrangements are in place.
You will receive an invoice after each paid session. The invoice may be used in connection with reimbursement where the relevant scheme accepts client-submitted documentation.
Cancellation
If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please contact me as soon as possible.
Cancellations must be made in writing by email no later than 24 hours before the scheduled start time and sent to michalasofie@protonmail.com.
To ensure that cancellations are registered correctly, cancellations cannot be made by phone call, text message, voicemail or social media. A cancellation is only considered received when it has been sent to the email address above.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, or do not attend, the full fee is charged because the time has been reserved for you and will usually not be possible to offer to someone else at short notice.
If you become acutely ill or are affected by exceptional circumstances, you are welcome to contact me so that the situation can be considered individually.
Late arrival
If you arrive late, the session will normally still end at the agreed time out of consideration for subsequent clients. The full fee remains payable.
Confidentiality, clinical record keeping and data protection
As an authorised psychologist, I am subject to a duty of confidentiality and to requirements concerning clinical record keeping. Information from our conversations is generally treated confidentially and is not disclosed to others without your consent.
Certain exceptions may apply under Danish law, for example where there is a serious risk of harm or a specific statutory duty to disclose information or take protective action.
Further information about the processing of personal data, consent and your rights is available in the Privacy Policy at the bottom of the website.
Urgent and emergency support
I do not provide an emergency service and cannot guarantee availability between sessions.
If you are in an acute crisis, have suicidal thoughts or need immediate help, contact your general practitioner, the out-of-hours medical service or the nearest psychiatric emergency service. Call 112 in a life-threatening emergency.
